I didn't realize only sketches were due last class, so I actually was panicing to get this business card done last week. I did some adjustments such as the margins (in case part of it were to get off) to the business card. I feel that the business card is well put together.  Last class, I had too much on the front and nothing on the back, but with classmates' input, I was able to gather their thoughts and therefore, it helped the business card look more professional. 

After, my panic mode was gone, I still had some problems. Even after getting assistant from the Professor, the front of the business card still had a lighter black background when printed. I really don't know what the problem is anymore. 

I did enjoy making my own layout for a business card. I wanted to stay with my original colors of bright pink, white, silver and black. The white makes the personal information pop on the business card. Additionally, two fonts were used to make this business card. I believe each of the fonts compliment each other giving an elegant, but fun feeling to the card and business. 

Not only is creating a business card a project for the class, but it will also be helpful in the future for internships and jobs. I would not necessarily put a Company's name on the card, but rather significant information from my resume such as previous work experience or skills that I obtain. I feel making a business card for future employers would help me tremendously. 

Mock Business Card

Throughout this project, I ran into a few problems with the business card. My first problem was when I printed the card, I found the infinity symbol has a light black box around it. I have tried everything, and nothing has worked for me. When the card is displayed online or on inDeisgn it does not have this problem. Another problem is uploading this jpeg. I cannot seem to have this read clearly online. It looks fuzzy and not business professional, but when printed out on computer paper, it looks clear.

Corporate Identity Questionaire

1.  What is your business?

My business, Infinity Creations Photography is primarily a wedding photography business. Additionally, the business has open arms and welcomes any engagement couple whether at the office which is located on the beach and has a wonderful background for a picture, inside the office with countless backdrops or at a couple’s specific destination.

2. Describe your business in one sentence.

Infinity Creations Photography guarantees memorable photos that will last a lifetime.

3. Who is your target audience?

The target audience for Infinity Creations Photography is couples whom are about to get married (engaged) and a couple on their actual wedding day.

4. Who are your competitors?

My competitors are other photography companies who primarily target their company towards young wedding couples. Some companies include, WeddingsInc, The Pros, and William Arthur Photography.

5. What makes them better/worse than your product/service?

Although, Infinity Creations Photography is currently unavailable online due to rearranging the site, it provides excellent customer service in and out of the office. Infinity Creations has numerous package deals and is willing to accommodate with any client to ensure the couple has exactly what they imagine for.

WeddingInc. offers to a new potential wedding couple a total package that can include a cake, catering service, flowers, your choice of location, photography, a tuxedo for the groom, videography and a marriage license. Although this information sounds like a great deal, WeddingInc. packages are only ideal for one hundred or fewer guests.

The Pros are solely a wedding photography company. As seen on their website, only one package is offered which doesn’t give their potential clients any other options and have to depend on one package. This makes it hard to accommodate their clients.

William Arthur Photography is a company which captures weddings, engagements and maternity events. The company presents a reasonable amount of packages to its customers. Unfortunately, the website doesn’t have that spark factor; too simple.   

6. Do you currently have an identity? (This is more for companies that are already established and you’re just revamping the logo/corporate identity. If you have a new company or product, skip this question.)

Yes, Infinity Creations Photography has a unique logo in which the infinity symbol represents that a marriage lasts a lifetime, and the line splitting the symbol right down the middle symbolizes a ring/ band to a newly-wed couple.

The Company is just getting started; has been around for about a year in the Winter Park area. Infinity Creations Photography has been portrayed by many celebrities and People Magazine as having a wonderful reputation to its clients with gorgeous wedding photos by providing high quality wedding portraits, family gatherings, candid photos and much more.

7. (If your answer to #6 is no, skip this question) What do you like about it and what don’t you like about it?

I love the overall idea of the logo. A few adjustments need to be made such as having a thicker infinity symbol and line splitting the infinity in half. Also, the name “Infinity Creations Photography” needs to be reconsidered below the symbol. I need to see if I can place the name of the Company somewhere else, so clients and potential clients will be able to read a business card from far away. Finally, I like the colors of the logo. I believe the colors are simple, but elegant.

8. How do you want your image to be seen in two years?

I want Infinity Creations Photography to be seen as a company a client can trust for high quality, elegant and flawless wedding photos.

9. If your company was an animal, what animal would it be and why?

Infinity Creations Photography would be a unicorn because a unicorn is very unique and is considered to be one of the most beautiful animals.

10. If your company/brand was a person, who would it be and why?

Princess Kate would be the person representing Infinity Creations because she is an elegant young woman and an icon across the world. She treats others with the upmost respect and is willing to give her time to the community, and continually makes someone’s day better. 

11.  If your company/brand was an object, what would it be?

A pair of wedding bands would be the ideal object for the Company, Infinity Creations Photography to represent the Company as a wedding photography company.

12. If your customer was a cartoon character, who would it be?

Cinderella would represent Infinity Creations Photography because she is beautiful. No matter the situation (even being bullied by her sisters), she keeps her cool and is able to cope with any situation. This shows that Cinderella respects others. Respecting clients and taking memorable photos is what Infinity Creations Photography is all about.

My process:

Right when I was introduced to this project, I wanted to have an image of the water. I began thinking. My first thought was to have the background be a sunset and then incorporate dolphins, a sail boat, a surfboard, and maybe a couple on the beach. When I integrated the images, I felt the was becoming too much. In other words, I couldn't concentrate on one image; my mind was going every which way.

After about an hour, I decided I wanted to change my image, and have a picture with more color and have  the background be underwater. I started to think out of the box for this project...finally my brain was getting more imaginative.

I used six images, the background which is just underwater, the young couple whom just got married, two different photos of coral reef, a holy bible, and intertwined silver rings. Trying to cut out the young couple was the hardest. I used the magic eraser tool and the lasso tool for the young couple, bible, and the wedding bands. After playing around with some of the tools, I came across the quick selection tool which helped and saved a lot of time cutting the coral reef and placing it into my final image. To make each of the coral reefs look like a combined image, I used the eraser tool. My final step was to find a quote or song lyric that represented the photo. Since the quote I found was so long, I only used the last part of the quote.

Overall, I loved working on this photo even though it took me forever in a day to complete. Additionally, I am very pleased how this image came together.

A Day at the Beach

    During the process of creating a vector illustration, I changed my image twice. I originally chose an image that consisted of a van with a surf board on top with the background of an ocean. I was getting very frustrated with the image as it was taking me forever to try and make the ocean look real (waves and the sunset). I kept failing, so I decided I would look for another image. This picture intrigued me and I began working diligently. Trying to replicate an image is needless to say, difficult. 

    As far as the horizon and water go for the above image, I used the gradient tool. In addition, for some parts of the water, I did use the film grain tool. The ocean waves are portrayed by the ocean ripple effect, the light brown sand is displayed by using the palette knife effect, and the shadows are a basic color with the opacity turned down. The bike is made up approximately 12 different colors. In order to match each of the colors of my vector illustration to the original photo, I used the eye drop tool to get as close to the color as I could to make my photo look realistic. 

   Although this project was challenging, I thoroughly enjoyed working on it and look forward to the next project.

INFINITY CREATIONS

    Throughout the process, the pen tool was definitely the death of me. I found it was difficult making the infinity symbol. It took many tries to make it look like this. Also, I found it was challenging to make the infinity symbol have a gradient feel to it. Overall, I enjoyed working on this logo and look forward to editing and using it in the future.    

   INFINITY CREATIONS photography is a wedding photography company. The infinity symbol represents that marriage is for a lifetime or infinity. I also used a few effects so the symbol could stand out more rather than just staying with a neutral color. Additionally, the line striking the middle of the infinity logo symbolizes a ring. As far as the Company's title, I wanted to make it look professional. "INFINITY CREATIONS" is bright pink to help bring out the title and then the word, "photography" is a softer color, but elegant at the same time.
